not give a shit (about (someone/something)) to not be interested in someone or something.

I don't give a shit what they do.

For the most part they didn't give a shit about me.

Usage notes: although almost always negative, sometimes used without not:

Who gives a shit about what she says?

Nobody around here gives a shit about politics.

Altho this is synonymous w/ "not give a damn about", it is a different register & there is no way to label a syn. or related vocab., so I have not included it as an xref, as it wd be misleading. The defs. & treatment are exactly the same, however--SL, 10/02
